My Mama, My Life
by nadine_10

When I first opened my eyes
I saw a beautiful woman with a beautiful smile
She looked at me with eyes full of tears and love
But they took me away and I fell asleep wonderin if I'd see her again
Who is she?

When I opened my eyes on my 1st birthday
She was there and she gave me a kiss
She brought me downstairs
Where I was showered with balloons and gifts
Who is she?

When I opened my eyes on my 5th birthday
She greeted me with a hug and dressed me up for a big day
She took me to my first day of school and it was scary
But she told me she wasnt gonna leave me and she didnt
Who is she?

When I opened my eyes on my 16th birthday
She told me to get up, get ready we had a lot to prepare for
She helped me put on my dress and did my hair
And told me how pretty I was
Who is she?

She's more than a teacher
She's more than a best friend
She's more than a woman
She's more than my mother
She opened my eyes to the wonders of the world
And she gave me strength to face life's challenges
And if they try to take her away
Then that would be the day my eyes would never open again
Who is she?

She is my life...

Mother's Day Poem
by Zekk_Jari17

You feel the fortune of your years,
I hope. For all your children's love
This day must bring you happy tears
And thoughts that joyful music prove.

I hope, for all your children's love,
There is an island, be it small,
And thoughts that joyful music prove
Beyond what years you may recall.

There is an island, be it small,
Amid the passions of the sea,
Beyond what years you may recall,
Where you in silent grace can be.

Amid the passions of the sea,
This day must bring you happy tears.
Where you in silent grace can be,
You feel the fortune of your years

What Mother means to me
by Lynjupiter

A Mother means cleaning and scrubbing all day long.
Wiping butts and mowing lawns.
Striving and slaving day after day.
Wishing she could run away.

A Mother means being awake all night while an illness your child fights.
Each child's hurts break your heart.
With that child you feel you can never part.

A Mother means facing the day when your child must go away.
Yet a smile you will fake.
While inside your heart aches.
Watching through the swelling tears as your baby disappears.

when you thought
by Rose34

When you thought I wasn't looking,
I saw you hang my first painting on the refrigerator,
and I immediately wanted to paint another one.

When you thought I wasn't looking,
I saw you feed a stray cat,
and I learned that it was good to be kind to animals.

When you thought I wasn't looking,
I saw you make my favorite cake for me
and I learned that the little things can be the special things in life.

When you thought I wasn't looking,
I heard you say a prayer, and I knew there is a God I could always talk to
and I learned to trust in God.

When you thought I wasn't looking,
I saw you make a meal and take it to a friend who was sick,
and I learned that we all have to help takecare of each other.

When you thought I wasn't looking,
I saw you give of your time and money to help people who had nothing
and I learned that those who have something should give to those who don't.

When you thought I wasn't looking,
I saw you take care of our house and everyone in it
and I learned we have to take care of what we are given.

When you thought I wasn't looking,
I saw how you handled your responsibilities, even when you didn't feel good
and I learned that I would have to be responsible when I grow up.

When you thought I wasn't looking,
I saw tears come from your eyes
and I learned that sometimes things hurt, but it's all right to cry.

When you thought I wasn't looking,
I saw that you cared and I wanted to be everything that I could be.

When you thought I wasn't looking,
I learned most of life's lessons that I need to know
to be a good and productive person when I'm grown.

When you thought I wasn't looking,
I looked at you and wanted to say,
"Thanks for all the things I saw when you thought I wasn't looking."

Friendship
by gagethomas69

Friendship is a thing you cannot replace
It gives you a reason to keep a smile on your face
It is something that will last forever
To keep such bonds is always clever
Friendship is a part of life
Which can sometimes cut like a knife
Friendship is a kind of love
It is a gift from Him above
Friendship gives you a purpose
As well as a reason to be forgiving
A friend is one you can always talk to
A person who will always be there for you
A friendship is bond unbreakable
Which causes happiness, which can be unbelievable
Friends are people you can rely on
These people you can never con
So do not forget friendship
Which is an everlasting relationship
Wherever you may go
I just want you to know
I'll always be there for you
Till all my days are through
